It was battle of the ladies today aboard My Way 2 for day 3 of our Pure Fishing Smoothhound Challenge as Carine, Claire and Keith 😁 all recorded 15lb hounds. 30 boated altogether with Claire proving the eventual winner with her superb 15lb 7oz specimen. Smoothhound Challenge day two

After a slow start the hounds turned up today with us managing to boat 35. Marks 18lber the biggest of the day so far, but having won yesterday’s prize Mark is ineligible for today’s, thus Neil with his 14lb 4oz smoothie takes top spot leading into this evenings session.  Lovely evening session today with a further 15 hounds to the boat. A good few doubles, with in form Mark Dolben taking the largest once again at 16lb. Smoothhound Challenge day one

46 smoothhounds landed on the first day sail of our Pure Fishing Smoothhound Challenge. Plenty of hounds around the 8lb mark and a few into double figures. Mark Dolben taking the lead with 15lb 4oz. Fingers crossed the remainder of the week  It was harder work in the evening with only 7 hounds landed but double the amount dropped.  Strong north winds not helping our cause. Nice hounds

Few hounds around today, managed 6 myself. A few around 8lb, and a few doubles including this 15lber. Looking good for next weeks Pure Fishing Smoothhound Challenge. Duncan with a  good few himself too took the honours in the hounds today with this lovely 17lb specimen

Easterly winds

Blustery NE winds that picked up this morning hampered play today, but we caught a good mixed bag of species inshore. Including a couple hounds for our dozen Crab and a few more dropped again.  Deeps was hard work in the swell, but a few huss and spurs came to our aid

New boat, new venue – winter aboard My Way 2

With the ever-increasing inclement weather, days afloat are becoming far less predictable it was always an ambition of mine to relocate My Way to the sheltered comfort of the Menai Straits for the winter period. However truth being besides vast waters available inside the Straits, she lacked the speed required to navigate the tides and distance when wanting to fish outside from either entrance.
