Welcome
to the internet home of Julie-Anne Charters
Our diving pages aim
to dispel the myth that diving in the sea around Anglesey is
rubbish. This myth seems to have arisen due to the fact that its
location means it is chosen by many clubs, as their first
"expedition" of the new season.
So they arrive every Easter
with their RIBs full of eager new recruits to find the sea the
colour of strong coffee and flowing along like the Severn in
flood.
After their nightmare weekend, Anglesey is then consigned to the
file marked "never again".
From mid-April to the middle
of May, I must admit, Anglesey is only good for nil-vis training. However,
the rest of the year you can expect the vis to be between 5 and
10m -
sometimes you can be unlucky and only find 2-3m, but just as
often you can be lucky and find 15m+.
( We've experienced vis of 15m on the Dakota in February!)
Anyway, we aim to share with you our experiences gained from 10
years of diving, approx.1200 dives, 90% of which have been from
my home-town of Amlwch Port, North Anglesey.
