We’ve enjoyed some more great days afloat on the Menai Strait this week.
Everyone catching plenty of fish in the early winter sunshine. Bulk of the catches made up from whiting, with a good number of chunky fish at 2lb. Other species included dabs, codling, huss, sea scorpions, dragonettes and lesser weavers.
As the water temperature drops yesterday we had a first crack at the congers. We only managed a couple of 15lbers along with huss. Sadly after a promising start just at dusk, the bigger eels didn’t appear to be on the feed.
Never the less great fun, with Rob catching his main target for the day, a first eel!
