Getting afloat

Weather has been trying our patience lately, we’ve cancelled far more than we’ve sailed over the past week as the current run of poor weather continues.

Sandwiched between high winds we have been able to grab a few days afloat with some good results. Earlier this week we had a run around the island in search of rays. We caught a good number of thornbacks together with huss, mackerel, whiting dogfish and others.

Tope have been feeding for us too in Holyhead Bay. A few drifts to start the day to gather some fresh baits to supplement the frozen mackerel and then a good mix of tope and huss

Graham Chadwick, above managed a new personal best tope with this one pushing the scales to a cool 40lb

Pete wanted to beat 30lb this year and landed a 36lber, above

Good fishing amongst the days tied up. More photos in Gallery 251
