We’ve enjoyed a good weekend afloat, mixed fishing on the drift and at anchor.
Saturday, we had a run around the coast rewarded with more rays than we could count, along with plenty of huss and a selection of smaller species at anchor. Drifting we caught pollack, ballan wrasse and cuckoo wrasse.
Sunday was another mixed day, this time staying more local and having our first try at the smoothhounds. The hounds were a little slow, with only two boated best at 16lb and another few lost.
Plenty of species were caught by Meltham & Diatric SAC during another of their small competitions afloat – ballan, cuckoo, pollack, poor cod, dog, huss, hound, dab, whiting and lsss
