When the fishing is on fire, it’s a hard choice sometimes when you know you may well be pushing the last of a set range of certain tides. Wrecking needs neaps to mid, Deeps needs a tide below 27′. Other areas need good spring tides for a run of water to get the fish feeding.
Yesterday was 29-30ft, really at the tough end for a day on the wrecks. But having seen the great fishing anglers had been experiencing, yesterdays crew of local anglers wanted to make it happen.
Fortunately, we weren’t disappointed.
Plenty of big double figure pollack, with cod and coalies to 7lb keeping everyone entertained most drifts.
