We were enjoying a great catch up aboard My Way 2 last Tuesday – a regular friends get together and our first since Covid – sunshine, calm seas and plenty of smoothhounds when HHCG issued a Mayday Relay to a sinking vessel with persons onboard.
Soon as I mentioned we were only 3 miles away rods were retrieved, anchor hauled and we were underway.
Massive thanks to the guys who didn’t hesitate, but sprang into action, clearing the deck of rods tackle etc then preparing to get the family aboard and to safety with us. We managed all this within 20 mins, calmly and professionally, then at the request of HHCG awaited the arrival of HolyHead ILB & ALB who took over the rescue and recovery of the stricken vessel.
Great team effort and excellent result, thanks chaps.
