Went out on My Way 2 with my dad. Started off on the smoothies and peeled a crab and sent it down and Gethyn called it as a dog first chuck😂 So followed his words of wisdom and managed to get a 14lb 6oz smoothie. All lads on the boat had atleast 1 smoothound with another lad having one of 25lb 5oz Then off for some drifting with small Pollock and wrasse coming up and then we found some mackeral. Angler Report 10th May 2017
Sooooo yesterday!!! Early start up at 3am loads of coffee and a shower. We left at 04:30 so we could squeeze a hour feathering on the breakwater in before we set off on My Way for an epic adventure. Weather was just perfect warm , sunny , and a faint breath of wind ….fantastic! Managed 1 small mackerel on the feathers but was itching to get out on the water so my mind wasn’t really in it. So time to get out on my way a boat with a well deserved reputation for quality fish. First few hours was on […]

The day started of pretty lumpy, headed over to a mark for a couple of drifts and wind and tide kept us moving very very slowly over the drift which produced a good few pollock including a couple nice 3lb ones and 2 dogfish on the drift! We then headed out a little to another mark and again lumpy sea on the drift with more pollock coming aboard to most anglers and it was this drift I learnt an awful lot about the Penn Fathom 15ld 2speed I was using (more to come about this) when I dropped what felt like […]

So today, myself and a great bunch of lads went out on My Way with Gethyn Owen, great banter, excellent food including the poshest sausage and bacon sandwich and the best millionaires shortcake I’ve ever eaten. We started on the drift for pollock and wrasse and were rewarded with a few fish for our efforts including cuckoo wrasse, ballan wrasse and pollock for myself, then we headed to the deeps and after a couple of fruitless drifts in which the pollock must of been hiding from the predators that were following. Gethyn put the anchor down and we were away, […]

Well. What can I say….. fished on My Way skippered by non other than Gethyn Owen today, out of Holyhead. Skipper reckons it was a slow day today, but if a slow day involves tope, spurdogs, huss, wrasse and pollock, then I can’t even begin to imagine what a good days like!!!!!!! Another member of the Mersey hound family was on board, Tom Murphy. He’s relatively new to boat fishing but with the guidance of Gethyn managed several new species and shattered his previous pb’s! I myself obliterated my pollock pb! No official weight but believed to be around 7lb. Cannot […]
