Wrecking fun

A few trips out to the wrecks last week and the fishing was like the weather, superb. Pollack the main catches with the odd codling, coolish and small ling Double shots of hards fighting pollack for those brave enough to fish 2 hooks in 400ft of water! More photos in Gallery 276

First Timers

Having not tried boat fishing before, Val & Keith chartered My Way 2 for a 4hr trip in Holyhead Bay. We started our adventure drifting over the slack water period for small pollack and wrasse, both species obliged. At anchor we managed a good little mixed bag, including dogfish, huss, conger and dabs So good, we’re off on another 4hr adventure in September, really good fun day afloat. Tope Time

After a week of high winds it has been good to get back afloat and enjoy some settled seas and good tope fishing.  The tope have been around in numbers both in Holyhead Deep and the shallower waters around our coast. We’ve enjoyed sunshine, great crew and great fishing. More photos in Gallery 276

Nice shot

Awesome photo from Jonathon Peers recently on our return from another successful trip into Caernarfon Bay, rays the main target with gurnards, whiting, dabs, tope, doggies, huss and more making an appearance.  The spring tides curtail adventures on the wrecks or Holyhead Deep, but allow us a great time species hunting.  Bookings for 2022 are well underway with certain dates & tides filling up quickly.  Please email or call 07971 0924046 to discuss your 2022 time afloat aboard My Way 2

Weather Window

After over a week stuck ashore it was great to hear the sea beneath us last Saturday. Thankfully the fish played ball. We had fish every drift and on every wreck, fish boxes full with Peter taming the best at just over 14lb. Really enjoyable day with a great crew of misfits. More photos in Gallery 270

First tope

Lovely evening recently with great friends Mark, Dani and family celebrating Ebony’s 16th birthday.   Pollack, wrasse and mackerel on the drift followed by dogs and huss at anchor. We had a couple tope baits out but nothing happened.   Minutes before lines up, Tylers rod screamed off, stripping line at a rate of knots. After a 20minute tussle, this fantastic 47lb tope broke the surface.   Brilliant end to a great evening afloat.

Great ending

Happy ending to a worrying situation.   Big credit to My Ways crew today that were more than keen to delay their return to port in search of a missing kayaker. Eagle eyes peered onto the waves as the southerly winds lifted the sea making it difficult to spot the missing individual.   As we made our way towards Sandy Beach a kayak was spotted, as we approached and then made contact, it was with relief we determined with HH Coastguard it was the missing person. We waited alongside until RNLI Holyhead Lifeboat Station was able to take the kayaker […]

Daughters delight

Simon booked the boat recently with tope the intended target. Fortunately we caught plenty of pack tope to 20lb. However daughter Evie stole the day with a countless number of tope and huss. Great confident attitude and another superb young angler. More photos in Gallery 270
