Young Gun

More great days afloat recently, quantity down on previous trips but still plenty in the boxes & fillets to head home with. Young Michael Barr showing the adults how to catch using the new PENN Wrath 20/30 rod together with a PENN 25 LD 2 speed. Pollack and codling falling to his lures most drifts ending with a stint of filleting too on the way in. The PENN Wrath Boat rods are available in two weight classes: 20-30lb and 30-50lb. This month we reopened our My Way 2 Species Hunt for 2020 a chance for anglers to record the different species they catch with us resulting in the angler with most by 31st Dec winning a great prize We started this fun campaign mid January 2020 however it was short lived and postponed until early July 2020 with the Covid19 pandemic. Bounty on the wrecks

Another great day afloat yesterday. As this brief video of the sounder shows, this particular wreck was stacked high with fish.  Mixed bag with pollack to 13lb, cod to 6lb and a few small coalfish. Plenty of fish every drift, but the average size down compared to recent weeks at around an 8lb average, but still great sport and cool boxes of fillets going home. Windy but fun few days

Last few days has seen us making the most of some poor weather. That said we had a good time inshore species hunting. Fantastic day afloat yesterday. Glorious sunshine calm seas and a family bubble wanting a mixed bag and especially rays! Red letter wrecking

After a good day inshore on mixed species – plenty of wrasse, small pollack, dogs, whiting, huss, rays etc on Sunday we headed back off shore yesterday to find some fish for the table.
