Fishtastic

A lovely sunny day yesterday and some great mixed fishing. At anchor the usual suspects along with a plentiful supply of good huss with a thornback and a small spurdog. Pure Tope

Memorable day afloat today with Halton SAC and members of the Mersey Hounds fishing group partaking in our 2nd day of the July species points competition sponsored by Pure Fishing U.K. The forecast wasn’t the best, light breeze in the morning increasing to a strong breeze with a strong wind warning for the afternoon, exactly when we were due to fish a few miles offshore. Our plans for Holyhead Deep were all but shelved. With the quality hire gear supplied by us, the guys opted for using tackle from My Ways armoury. We set sail at 8.30am equipped with a […]

Caribbean weather

Sunshine, calm seas, more sun shine, even more calm seas, a great crew, a spot of fishing fun and a delicious goat and mutton Caribbean curry from Phil. Another great day afloat with a good mixed bag of fishing. Few drifts over an inshore wreck produced a good number of pollack with a few 5lbers in the mix  The deeps didn’t fish particularly good by its normal standards, but a handful of small tope, some big Huss and a solitary spurdog kept the spirits high.  Inshore drifting was a blast as usual, light tackle and a few hard fighting wrasse […]

Another great weekend afloat

Great sport this weekend, blustery & drizzly rain yesterday with today a complete contrast with little wind, blue skies and gorgeous sunshine. Good fishing all round with huss and tope the larger species at anchor. With a plentiful amount of wrasse and small pollack on the light tackle drifting both days. And I finally managed to get a couple photos of a puffin whilst afloat 👌😁 More photos in Gallery 214

Species fun time

Inshore the last few days and we’ve had a good array of species. Drifting has provided us with ballans, cuckoos, pollack, coalie, codling and one rogue bass, that sadly fell off at the side of the boat before I could get the net to it.   At anchor we’ve seen plenty of the usual suspects for Holyhead, dogfish and huss in particular in abundance. We’ve also seen  great number of small rays, tope and smoothhound. All averaging the 8lb mark, but extremely great fun on light tackle. More photos in Gallery 214 We only have the two dates available for […]
