Weather

Can anyone remember the weather last June 🤔 how good was that? The last few weeks have been hard work and last Friday & Saturday even more so. Winds above forecast and yesterday especially the fish in hiding! Saturday a typical example of how absolutely poor forecasting has become. Yesterday evening every forecast bar none giving 16-22mph S winds. “Let’s do it” my call, lumpy couple hrs to start, tide change then a lovely day. 28-38mph was what greeted us as we prepared for the day. Chatting with Gareth from Spindrift Charters before sailing we both suggested unprintable words to do […]

Monday 10th June Fun Competition

Monday 10th June saw the first of our fun competition days, sponsored by Pure Fishing UK LTD. They are no different to a normal day out. You simply come along and have a fun time catching with us, while we record your catch, each fish scoring a set amount of points each, with bonus points for each different species. With inclement weather dogging the past few weeks afloat, it was nice to set sail this day with calm seas and some blue skies. We had some great mixed fishing from both anchor and drifting, with a few hrs dedicated to the highlight […]

Baby shark

Another great weekend and a catch up afloat with some good friends from around the UK. Saturday the weather wasn’t the best, with north 30mph blowing for most of the morning.  We managed to sneak a few hrs scratching around the bay as the winds eased in the afternoon. Aboce, David Proudfoot owner of the popular online magazine Planet Sea Fishing  Everyone into a good few hounds, but the average size around 6-8lb well below par […]

We snuck out

Managed to sneak out on Thursday 06th June in-between the windy weather. Sea was a tad lumpy with a strong SW wind, but with a collection for friends travelling from all over the UK, we were determined to get a few hrs in on the hounds. Thankfully the fishing gods favoured us with all onboard catching a few hounds up to 18lb. Great fun and a good giggle too … More photos in Gallery 245

Wrecking crew

A little change from the usual for us on Weds 27th June as we went looking at a few new wrecks.   Wreck Fishing is something I only took part in on the odd occasion as an angler. And it’s something I’ve continued in my career as a skipper But every now and then it’s a great change and when the fish are feeding it can be great fun. We went exploring a few new wrecks to us on Weds and the fish certainly played their part. More photos in Gallery 233
