Read moreSunshine, fish and smiles a few weeks ago when we had a 7hr trip on the Menai with the Leighton Family. A tidy mixed bag including, dogfish, whiting small smoothhound pout and poor cod keeping the young anglers entertained. Thanks to Rich and Deena for the photographs and kind words Wales never fails to impress and this time the amazing opportunity to take the boys on My Way 2. Myself and Richard Leighton have always enjoyed trips and this time to share with our boys was perfect! I cannot thank Gethyn Owen for being an amazing captain and making the […]
Read moreWe’ve been enjoying some great mixed fishing on the Menai Strait for the passed week. Our trips have been 5hr over high water and 7hr over low water, many a simple good days fishing and a few chasing species for anglers to tick off their tallies for the year. Anyone catching a fish aboard My Way 2, simply uses the boat species card while afloat and takes a quick photo of the card alongside their catch. This photo they then upload to the My Way 2 Species Hunt 2020 Facebook Group Page and we keep track of who has caught […]
Read moreDespite the strong northerly winds of late we’ve enjoyed some calm seas within the Menai Strait this last week. Fishing has been on the whole good, but also at times unpredictable. One day plenty of hounds, small tope and a mixture of other species. And the last couple the mainstay being huss, dogs and whiting, quite possibly due to the coloured water with strong northerly winds blowing outside. Been a wet couple days too but enjoyable with rays, whiting, dabs, mini species adding to the catches already mentioned. More photos in Gallery 262 COVID19 Information pack Bookings […]

Read moreBrilliant fun day for our first trip on the Menai Strait yesterday. We wanted to make the most of the sunshine despite the tide being a little too big to that normally preferred on the Menai thus restricting us to just a couple marks. We still managed a good few species, keeping us all busy through our 5hrs afloat – dogs, whiting, huss, dab, mackerel, sea scorpion, small tope and a fair number of small smoothhound. Looking forward to the months ahead chasing a wealth of species along this stretch of water. More photos in Gallery 262 COVID19 […]
Read moreWe will be returning to the beautiful Menai Strait and Port Dinorwic Marina for the first week of October 2020. On the Strait we enjoy some superb winter sport from a variety of different species. The Menai Strait is mystical part of Wales that affords shelter and calm seas from most wind directions! Within the sheltered waters, most trips see a succession of species including whiting, dabs, codling, dogfish, huss, smoothhound, conger and an array of other mini species. Venturing outside when weather allows we encounter plenty of thornback rays and spurdog amongst others. Our 5hr fun competitions also return […]
Read moreWas lovey to get outside of the Strait yesterday with some superb weather, good fishing for the time of year and a barrel of laughs. Plenty of whiting, dabs and dogs. A few huss and loads of thornback rays for everyone. Big thanks to Mrs Maryniak for the fish pie we all enjoyed for lunch, the photo doesn’t do it justice, was delicious and made with pollack Pete caught last year 👍 So good was the day, I even managed a little fish myself, thornbacks two at a time
Read moreWith the UK bracing itself for the Storm Ciara, it was lovely to see a break in the weather this week, A couple days of light winds and calm seas helped us make the most on Thursday and venture outside of the Menai Strait into Caernarfon Bay and beyond. Our first anchor was a few miles outside Caernarfon bar in search of Thornback rays. The first 90 mins proved hard work, normally you need a good springtide to fish these areas for a decent flow of water, on a neap we had to sit patiently and pick out the odd […]
Read moreWe had a Great day afloat last last time out. Whiting the mainstay of the day with 1, 2 and 3 at a time for all onboard. Yesterday, despite a week of lovely calm weather was completely different. Even the whiting played very hard to get, part way through the trip it was a desperate affair to avoid the dreaded blank! Fortunately everyone did catch from a mix of species, whiting, dab, LSSeaScorpion, pout and a few huss, sadly though nothing in any real number. It was a still a great time afloat, calm misty seas, a little bit of banter and […]
