Following a successful winter season 2018/2019 fishing from the beautiful Menai Strait, My Way 2 will return to Port Dinorwic Marina during the first week of October 2019. On the Strait we enjoyed some superb winter sport from a variety of different species. A mystical part of Wales that affords shelter and calm seas from all wind directions! Within the sheltered waters, most trips saw a succession of species including witing, dabs, codling, dogfish, huss, smoothhound, conger and an array of other species. Fantastic day afloat with Meltham * Distric SAC on Sunday. A small species and points competition between the lads so them concentrate on whiting, dogs and dabs etc for the first couple hrs until the rays started feeding. A good number of thornback rays were caught averaging 8lb with the largest just into double figures at 10lb 4oz. Today should have seen our first sail having returned to Holyhead for the spring summer season. Strong winds all week have kept us in Port Dinorwic and a changeable forecast for the weekend gave us something to ponder Our crew today (06th April) opted for a sail from Port Dinorwic and enjoy some fishing outside the Menai Strait in Caernarfon Bay and some shelter from the east winds. We struggled with a few hrs of slow fishing inshore yesterday but it soon turned into spurdog madness when we headed out to deeper water as the tide slackened. A good mixed bag of species topped off with a plentiful amount of spurs from a few lb to 17lb caught by everyone. Great fishing, great company, great chicken curry ( with plenty of chicken, thanks Neil ) and some lovey weather enjoyed for the time of year. From 60mph and torrential rain on Sunday to 30mph and sunshine Saturday.
