Pollack or Coalfish
Every now and then you see confusion on social media between pollack & coalfish. The smaller specimens in particular are sometimes confused when their colours are similar. Pollack and Coalfish prefer rock and weed covered ground. The bigger specimens frequenting the many sunken wrecks in deep seas. Inshore fishing on Thursday 06th Apr was great fun, but the deeps let us down with only big huss to the hooks, so a change of venue was called for he following day. As well as the inshore action we will be looking at setting sail a little further from port in search of bigger specimens. Being a distant relation to the cod, pollack is as highly […]

August was another month of mixed fortunes aboard My Way, maybe ‘Mixed Fortunes’ will be the title of our 2015 review, temperamental weather once again playing a big part in the whole month. Still, with a fully booked boat, when the weather allowed we managed to sail whenever possible and locate some sport for our crews. A few days into the month and the weather settled nicely for us to take a trip out to Holyhead Deep, sights set firmly on spurdogs and maybe a few tope. We were’t disappointed with a good number of spurs and tope coming to […]
