Every now and then you see confusion on social media between pollack & coalfish. The smaller specimens in particular are sometimes confused when their colours are similar. Pollack and Coalfish prefer rock and weed covered ground. The bigger specimens frequenting the many sunken wrecks in deep seas. Inshore fishing on Thursday 06th Apr was great fun, but the deeps let us down with only big huss to the hooks, so a change of venue was called for he following day. After a mixed bag inshore on Friday 07th Apr, it was time for a delicious beef casserole, thanks to Dawn. Next, the drift and we were rewarded with plenty of good sized pollack for April. Pollack can be caught off the wrecks around north Wales throughout the winter period, however during this time it’s the weather that tends to knock the odd trip off from targeting these all of these hard fighting species. With us now heading into April, Easter will soon be upon us and with the days growing warmer and longer, the weather should continue to become more settled. August was another month of mixed fortunes aboard My Way, maybe ‘Mixed Fortunes’ will be the title of our 2015 review, temperamental weather once again playing a big part in the whole month.
