Pure Fishing Smoothhound Challenge is go

Our week long Pure Fishing smoothhound challenge is now underway. This is the 6th year of our highly successful event, with big hounds being caught every day of every year. This year however, the hounds are proving slow to get going from Holyhead. We’ve already landed a few with the best over 20lb, but the numbers have yet to hit that expected. However our crews are made up of regulars, including past winners, 20lb hound captors, 14 hounds in a day captor and many personal bests. Pure Fishing Spurdog Competition 2017

This year working together with Pure Fishing, amongst our many competitions we offered anglers the chance to win a Greys GR100S 20lb Boat & Abu Ambassadeur 7000C LW multiplier reel combo by simply catching the heaviest spurdog aboard My Way over a period of 6 weeks, commencing on April 01st and ending 14th May 2017. New Abu 7000C reels for your use

Increasing the reels for use aboard My Way we recently took delivery of some classics from the ABU Ambassadeur range, the 7000C multiplier reel. We already have a selection of 7000C3 reels that have served our anglers for over a decade and still going strong. April and the spurs are biting

A great weekend was just had aboard My Way, kicking off April in superb fashion. We had a good variety inshore with dogs, whiting, codling and huss the mains at anchor, with a good number of pollack to 2lb on the drift. Late afternoon both days saw us catching plenty of Spurdog at the edge of Holyhead Deep. Numerous small sharks landed averaging 10lb.
