The My Way 2 species hunt returns for 2022 sponsored by PENN & BERKLEY Europe With 2 hugely successful and popular hunts over the last couple years plans are now complete for the return of this popular event for the season ahead. Anyone catching a fish aboard My Way 2, simply uses the boat species card while afloat and takes a quick photo of the card alongside their catch. As 2022 gets underway we can now announce the results of our 2021 My Way 2 Species Hunt. The Hunt was generously sponsored this year by PENN Fishing UK, with tackle vouchers available for the top two places. With various lockdowns and control measures upon us the early part of 2021 we never got underway until the end of April as restrictions were eased. My Way 2 will soon be returning to Port Dinorwic Marina, the shelter of the Menai Strait and when weather allows across the bar into Caernarfon Bay, Holyhead Deep and beyond. It all adds up to an interesting last 3 months of 2021 for those chasing the top prize of £300 PENN tackle vouchers in our 2021 Species League. Species Hunting

It’s not all about big fish, searching out all manner of species both big and small is great fun. We had a fantastic time fishing around the Pier wall in Trefor last week searching for mini species. The fish were plentiful. 8ft of clear water we watched in awe as the fish swam below us in great numbers. Common Blenny, Rock Goby, Corwking Wrasse, Lesser Weaver, small Pollack and small Whiting. Brilliant fun on very light gear and tiny hooks. More photos in Gallery 271

2nd in our 2020 My Way 2 species hunt, Graham Chadwick won a £200 voucher to exchange for new gear from the Pure Fishing range. Inshore fun

Excellent fun inshore chasing a few species, drifting for the morning followed by an afternoon at anchor. Plenty of wrasse around, ballans and cuckoos, great fun on light tackle. With added pollack, coalfish, scad and a few nice codling for John. Holyhead Deep was tiring! Spurdog and pack tope every drop, with a few double shots testing the muscles. Final anchor in the bay yielded a handful of hounds to cap a great day afloat with the crew from Milnrow. More photos in Gallery 266

Through a variety of lockdowns and tier systems within the UK we were only been able to fish for an approximate 4 months in 2020. Despite everything we have still managed a total of 27 species for the anglers taking part. We’re now a month on from Covid restrictions being eased in Wales, allowing boats to get back afloat and welcome anglers from around the UK.
