July kicked off aboard My Way with some superb starry smoothhound action for our anglers, with many not only recording their first hounds, but manageing double figures including a 20lber for Cheshire angler Steve Bodey and one that fell a couple ounces short for visiting Irish rod, Cormac Burke. June 2015
The beginning of June started worryingly with high winds cancelling the first five days, thankfully the weather front soon abated and we started on a rollercoaster ride through June with all barring a few days being fished. We also managed to put together a good number of evening trips for those in hot pursuit of some excellent smoothhound action. June, we do tend to concentrate on the hounds, after all they’re only here around 6 weeks in total whilst they follow the moult of the crabs. It’s been a while since our last detailed report, and much has happened, great fishing and hard fishing, thanks to the weather. We are still suffering from countless cancellations from the foul conditions that have been hanging around the UK for a long time now. But we all know that, so lets not dwindle on the bad. Up until today (18th) the month of April has been a relatively successful period aboard My Way. The weather has allowed us to sail on 9 occasions and only cancelled 5, ok, so 64% is not the kindest of percentages, but for early season April in the bay, I’ll take it. The first weekend of the month saw us staying inshore on a 6 hour trip for a group of novices aboard My Way.
