New for 2020 aboard My Way 2, the Shakespeare Fishing Ugly Stik Elite boat rods
The Ugly Stik boat rod was first released over 4 decades ago in 1976 and has enjoyed success and a great following around the world ever since.
The Ugly Stik Elite rod is the big brother to the popular Ugly Stik GX2, profiting from a more refined action & increased specification components
- Long tip / Short butt design
- Ugly Tuff Guides throughout
- Ugly Tech blank
- Ugly Stik 7 year warranty
- Full EVA hande with Ugly Stik logo etched on butt handle
- Heavier 30-50lb and 20-30lb version supplied with butt gimbal
With long tip and short butt sections, the Ugly Stik Elite is a light and well balanced rod. Having benefited from the Ugly Tech construction it also benefits from the Saltwater Resistant Ugly Tuff stainless steel guides!
Over the years the Ugly Stik range of rods have often being associated with the tagline of being virtually indestructible, the latest only adding to this and borne out with the 7 year warranty offered with all rods against manufacturing defect.
The first outing for these rods aboard My Way 2 will be in April, when we return to Holyhead and enjoy some time in Holyhead Deep, in search of tope, huss and the plentiful packs of spurdog.
Our rods & reels are supplied free of charge for novices and seasoned anglers alike.
Aboard My Way 2 we have a selection of different rods for our adventures. Spinning rods, light boat rods, heavy downtiders etc. When looking at a rod for a more general approach to some of our fishing we always look at 12-20lb test. These rods offer sensitive bite detection yet have the grunt to get the job done when fishing for the likes of big tope, rays etc or when in deeper water and needing a rod to take the strain.
If looking for a new rod or reel, feel free to request the use of one from our collection and see how it suits your needs. Try before buy!
