For years we stayed clear of wreck fishing. My Way 1, an absolute beauty of a boat that served us well for 14 years, didn’t have the power to commute to the wrecks and back in ample time with a steady 8knots her total best.
My Way 2 is a different matter a fast and spacious Offshore 105 powered by an impressive 420hp Iveco engine. Cruising offshore at a genuine 14knots with a loaded speed of 20knots+ if required, our more offshore fishing now well within reach … quickly.
All the wrecks we fish aboard My Way 2 are within 20miles of the North Wales coastline in depths of water ranging from 150 to 375ft. These wrecks have proven over the last couple years to hold an abundance of pollack with cod, coalfish and the occasional ling too.
Our wrecking trips offer a great experience with less travelling and more fishing imperative to help everyone enjoy their day afloat with us.
Studying charts for tides, depths and of course the shipwrecks & assessing their suitability plus potential we set out in 2018 on a few exploratory trips to develop wreck fishing aboard My Way 2. Again similar in 2019 seeking out new areas & shipwrecks to add to our ever growing list along with normal wrecking charters.
Good fortune or good planning either way our trips in 2018 and all our trips through 2019, both exploratory and with anglers have been an overwhelming success allowing us to open up the diary for 2020 to include some pretty special wreck fishing adventures.
Depths range from 150 to 400ft of water, not for the faint hearted, but with high stakes come high rewards and the pollack, cod and coalfish have been hitting the decks each drift, each day.
My Way 2 can be booked as a full charter or as individuals.
A full charter is priced at £600 for a 10hr trip, with the boat being licensed for up to 10anglers.
My Way 2 has a large deck area; there is ample room for all anglers to fish and maximise their time afloat.
Considering the depths being fished and the enjoyment of all on board we offer two types of wreck fishing trips for individuals and small groups of anglers
Trip 1 10hrs – 100 per person – maximum of 6 anglers aboard
Trip 2 10hrs – £600 full charter – recommend max 8
There are no exceptions to the numbers on individual days, more can only be taken if requested on a full boat booking
We have many regulars who simply use our gear when aboard My Way 2, thus hire rods can be accepted on a wrecking trip providing the angler has fishing experience.
Rods, reels and end tackle are charged at £10 per person for the first set up.
But please note, getting stuck in the wreck does happen at times. Any subsequent set up required – rig, lead, lures are charged at £7.50 per set up!
Please note: 10 hire rods will not be accepted on a full boat wrecking charter!
